SP7 again

I have a wonderful pal spoiling me, I received two skeins of wonderful wool one an alpacha and the other a merino in lovely colours some socks may be coming on, a delightful smelling candle and a stitch marker. She arranged for them to be sent from - yes memory like a sieve can't remember but Michigan from one of the discount ladies, it is hand spun and my pal likes to spin.
She has also just sent me a birthday card for next week with sheep on it - very funny and just tickled my sense of humour - thank you. I also have no idea who my pal is but a star none the less. I have been extremely lucky in both SP6 and 7 in terms of being spoilt and the spoiler.

SP7

In spite of everything I am enjoying SP7 I have a wonderful pal to spoil she is just so easy and really appreciative, I would put a link to her blog if I knew how. I had such fun choosing her first parcel and now the second is almost complete just waiting for the wool of ebay to arrive. I am already planning her 3rd parcel which is going to be on a different theme altogether she has just booked a holiday to Egypt one of my fave places - so the final parcel will have an egyptian theme and they did knit didn't they?

olympics

well I failed to complete the said article - the cardigan in the latest edition of simply knitting for my sister in Bebbie Blss baby cashmeriono started with all good intention have finished the back and almost the sleeves but the 2 fronts forget it.
Also started a gillet in sirdar foxy which is also unfinished. Life got in the way...

dying and feelings

Not been able to blog here for a while some gremlin kept me out. Life has been really difficult and to put no finer tune on it I am struggling more some days than other. My Mum is dying and although I know it is the order of things - its hurts and some days I feel so angry, it really makes me question my faith. I am one of those very lucky people a chosen child and much loved along with my brother and sister. I don't want Mum to suffer but I am greedy and want more time more quality time and it is all so damn precious. Yes I am selfish and some days I can talk and write about it without the tears pouring down my face, they are not so much for me but for the hateful unfairness, for my Mum becoming this frail dependent person who can not speak except in a whisper, for the erosion of dignity, for her wonderful indomitable spirit, for her inspiration

Back again

Happy New Year.
Christmas went really well, although I don't think we will be going out for the meal again for a while, well not like that. Eldest nephew texted a friend later and I just caught sight of a message which described it as ok but 4 boring hours must remember to tell my sister. Mum did very well and we had several busy visting days, so I think she was glad to see the back of me and have a rest. Went to see her this weekend which was also very pleasant but I am a bit confused she saw the oncologist who is a family friend on New years eve but only briefly and she says he told her the xrays were clear, my sister is going with her for the follow up visit next tuesday so we will find out then. Mum does get a bit muddled and forgetful so we will see. But I do feel a bit better but...

SP6

In spite of everything I have had a fabulous time doing SP6 and have signed up for 7.
I was spoiled by Blue outrageously so, she carefully read my list and choose wonderfully from it, I received my last parcel which had the most devine silk in it with a pattern to go with it. When I get some time after Christmas I will knit up this wonderful heirloom shawl which will hopefully go to Egypt with me in March to help celebrate my 50th where oh where did the years go.
I enjoyed choosing for my pal Jess but have to admit was a bit late sending out with everything else that was going on. Her final parcel has only just gone and I decided it would not be a knitty one but would be for her other developing passions I hope that she will enjoy it as much as I did putting it together.

another month

Well its almost another month and yet again where has the time gone - work, knitting, family, friends, visiting, guiding sleeping, and eating. Also worrying looks like Mum may have secondary cancer and its really taken me by suprise and does feel feel very different from a year ago. Also brings back those pictures in my head of my dad dying of cancer 14 years ago the ones buried so deep that you never want to see them again - I called his death in my head 'always autmn never winter' he had only just retired as much as any farmer can or will do. I know now that I am going to have the crying miles. So all in all it has been a tough month. Did not get to Germany but had a good day in Cambridge instead.

another month

I am truly not good at this I think that i don't keep a diary for the same reason. I am noisey and like the insight into the lives of others but mine oh no!
Have just been reading the moans on UK handknitter group about secret pal 6 which has made me think about expectations. I have not communicated very often either way - perhaps I will ask my pal who is ending to me what she thinks personally I am happy with the so far. Have not had alot of contact with the pal I send to but I do read her blog which is very good and has lead me down some interseting links - Have complimented her on it. Do I need to be more interactive?
Had a busy month since I posted last time. work is ok and we are busy developing new services one is a pilot for a forest school which is really exciting. I spent an afternoon last week visiting the site and helping to make willow structureswhich was really good fun I don't get out in the outdoors as much as I would like. Guiding has also taken up alot of time, I have recenty taken over the job of County Training Co-ordinator and am trying to revitalise training after a period of the doldrums - so far this month we have held 2 training which have gone well and fill me full of hope. Now planning something for next year.
Have been trying to plan a trip to the christmas marlets in Cologne with a friend we have such a small window of opportunity it is proving hard and we do live 150 miles apart.
Som till next time....

sanfaerieannes adventures

Where has all the time gone
I can believe it is nearly a month since I have posted - I was never very good at keeping a diary did really think a blog may be different.
So what I have I been doing since I was last here.
I have had the most wonderful weekend away with a group of friends in Devon. We stayed with with acouple who moved down from the midlands a while ago and oh how they have fitted into village life. We all know each other through guiding and are a group of trainers who help to support each other - in reality we are a group of friends. We did loads of things - walking on the beach, riding on a tram, shopping, visited Lyme Regis and had a murder mystery evening which was hysterical and really good fun - its one of those traditions when we go away. Good company good food and drink, lots of chat and areally good unwind.
I have knitted a scarf in some incredibly chunky wool for my secret pal - to my own very simple design which I then saw something very similar in a magazine for alot of money!
Must work out how to post photos on here - my OH is not too keen on me putting things on his computerI ask you!
Having a me weekend this weekend so who knows where that will take me

My weekend

I really must try harder to get into this blogging well not the reading of others but the writing of mine - sometimes think I may not have anything of interest to say but my life is interesting to me.
Last weekend was party week end almost sublime to ridiculous. Saturday saw me in my glad rags at the 50th party of an old friend ( don't remind me I hit that next year and plan a yearful of celebration starting off with a trip to Egypt) which was fab and a real celebration of her life, good food, dancing and lovely to see others I had not seen for awhile oh and a much later night than I had anticipated.
Next morning a different location miles away from the city on my brothers farm for the wild and hectic delights of my 4 year old nephews party complete with bouncy castle and face painting but just as much fun.

Secret Pal

Well my pal has come up trumps this week, I had a lovely parcel from her yesterday full of goodies. A cd with the powerful voices of wonderful women sing jazz - fab I played it on my way and from work. She also sent some cashmerino which I have not knitted with before and a pair of bamboo needles whhich never having used before I had to cast on and knit a few rows - how devine will certainly go and buy some more. Oh and chocoalate for sustainence - what more can a girl ask for!
